On 24 May 2018 the AeroGust project partners presented their work to an audience of academics and industrialists at the AeroGust project workshop. The workshop took place at Engineers’ House Conference Centre in Bristol.
A series of presentations chaired by Dr Dorian Jones from the University of Bristol, summarised the work of the project carried out over the last three years. The presentations covered:
An introduction to AeroGust
Nonlinear time domain gust simulations
Development of high-fidelity aeroelastic models for wind turbines
Uncertainty quantification of aeroelastic systems with structural or aerodynamic nonlinearities
Reduced Order Modelling for gusts
Reduced reliance on wind tunnel data
All twelve organisations involved in AeroGust were represented at the workshop. The University of Bristol’s Dr Ann Gaitonde, who coordinated the project with Dr Jones said, “We’re really pleased to share our research with everyone here today and know that it will be of value to those working in the aviation and wind turbine industries”.
